If you are a New Patient, please fill out the onboarding forms online prior to your apointment (a link will be sent to you via email once your initial appointment is scheduled). If you are unable to submit the new patient forms online beforehand, please arrive 15 minutes early to your appointment to complete the required forms.
Please arrive 10-15 minutes early to your first appointment, if you did not already submit the digital copies of your New Patient Intake & Consent forms. Please bring any lab tests/results that you would like considered. Be sure to eat a light meal or snack before your appointment and wear loose fitting clothes.
Your initial appointment will take approximately 60 minutes. We will begin by collecting information about you, your health concerns, your health history, overall lifestyle, a physical examination and your goals for treatment. The diagnosis is determined based off of the information that you provide, (along with information that we gather by taking your pulse and looking at your tongue), so the more forth-coming with information, the better picture we get . Our treatment plan will be based on the diagnosis and your goals and will be customized to address your individual needs and concerns. We will then insert needles accordingly and you will be able to relax (mind, body & spirit) in a private room for approximately 20 minutes. Everyone experiences the effects of acupuncture differently, some notice immediate relief and others may need several treatments to really see the effects. Generally, most people leave feeling rejuvenated and refreshed with total or partial relief from their symptoms.
Your follow-up appointments are approximately 50-60 minutes. We begin the session by checking in with you to note any changes and/or progress. We then proceed to take your 'Chinese Vital Signs' or feeling your pulse and looking at your tongue following a physical examination. If any new concerns present themselves, please mention them at this time. Your individual needs and progress will determine the quantity and frequency of your treatment course. As Acupuncture has a 'cumulative' effect, the frequency of treatments will be reduced depending on how quickly your body is able to heal. Typically, patients will reduce down from 1-2x/week to once a month, even quarterly for maintenance or preventative treatments. *Please note that cupping only sessions may only be scheduled after the initial New Patient appointment has been completed.*
At this time, we are unable to provide childcare during your treatment session. Out of respect for our other therapists utilizing the same building; we ask that you please arrange for childcare prior to your appointment as children in the treatment room or waiting area (unless being treated themselves) are a liability for our clinic. *Registered service animals only allowed in the clinic. We are understanding of unforeseen events and are happy to reschedule you due to childcare related issues, thank you.
Please provide a 24-hour notice of cancellation prior to your scheduled appointment time if you need to change or miss your session; failure to do so will result in a $50 late cancel/ no show fee. Payment of this fee will be collected before any further appointments can be scheduled. Thank you!
Thank you and we look forward to meeting you!
Acupuncture Center of Northern Colorado is committed to providing a website that is accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of circumstance and ability. We aim to adhere as closely as possible to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.0, Level AA), published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). These guidelines explain how to make Web content more accessible for people with disabilities. Conformance with these guidelines will help make the web more user friendly to everyone. Whilst Acupuncture Center of Northern Colorado strives to adhere to the guidelines and standards for accessibility, it is not always possible to do so in all areas of the website and we are currently working to achieve this. Be aware that due to the dynamic nature of the website, minor issues may occasionally occur as it is updated regularly. We are continually seeking out solutions that will bring all areas of the site up to the same level of overall web accessibility.
If you have any comments and or suggestions relating to improving the accessibility of our site, please don't hesitate to contact our accessibility coordinator, Holly Rampone-Gulder by 970.493.0025 or firstname.lastname@example.org. Your feedback will help us make improvements.
