Electrostimulation

Electrostimulation or "E-Stim" is a therapeutic technique that combines traditional acupuncture with the use of electrical stimulation. It involves inserting acupuncture needles into specific points on the body and then attaching electrodes to these needles to deliver a mild electrical current. E-Stim is used to address a wide range of health issues, including pain management, musculoskeletal problems, nerve disorders, and various other conditions. Our Fort Collins Practitioners will perform a proper assessment and determine if E-Stim is a suitable treatment option for your specific needs.

Benefits

Enhanced Stimulation

The addition of electrical stimulation enhances the effects of traditional acupuncture. It is believed to stimulate the nerves at the acupuncture points more effectively and promote the release of various neurotransmitters and chemicals in the body, like endorphins, serotonin, and dopamine.

Pain Modulation

Electrostimulation is thought to stimulate the body's own pain modulation systems. The electrical stimulation may trigger the release of endorphins, which are natural pain-relieving chemicals produced by the body. This can help alleviate pain and promote a sense of well-being.

Improve Blood Flow

The electrical current can also enhance blood circulation in the treated area, which may be particularly beneficial for conditions involving pain, inflammation, nerve dysfunction and muscle tension.
