Scar Release Therapy
Using a combination of Microcurrent, Acupuncture and Light Therapy, Scar Release Therapy is a gentle and effective way to reduce the appearance of scars, as well as pain or side effects caused by the scar.
The Dolphinstim microcurrent encourages scar healing by changing the polarity of scar tissue, releasing adhesions and reducing the size and appearance of the scar. Acupuncture can help to further release tight fascia, improve circulation at the scar site, release adhesions, reduce stress responses, as well as facilitate the body's natural ability to heal.

Scars can be much more than skin deep
People who have had surgeries, injuries, viral or bacterial infections, torn muscles, wounds, injections or fractures may have ongoing side effects at the site of the scar, as well as in other areas of their body. When a body receives a scar, it goes through a cycle of inflammation, proliferation and then remodeling.
Each aspect of the cycle must be completed in the correct sequence and time frame in order for the scar to heal properly. Oftentimes this cycle coincides with recovering from surgeries or injuries, which can involve high stress, lack of sleep and pain, making it difficult for the body to heal properly.

Once the body has healed from the wound and the scar has formed, new symptoms may start to occur relating to scar tissue buildup, such as adhesions, or tight connective tissue or fascia. Not only can these cause pain, but they can also affect lymph and circulatory flow, gut health, stress responses and heart rate variability.
For example, C-section scars may cause digestive issues such as constipation or diarrhea, low back pain, urinary issues, chronic pelvic pain, abnormal bleeding, abdominal wall endometriosis and more.

Scar Release Therapy works with safe, low level electrical current to help to speed up the healing process of the scar, decrease pain and restrictions in the connective tissue and help to relax and fade scar tissue.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Is Dolphinstim Scar Release Therapy painful?
Most people do not feel the microcurrent or may feel some slight tingling to mild discomfort in some areas.
2. How soon after surgery can I start?
Dolphinstim is safe to start anytime after surgery. As long as the area around the incision is uncovered, it is safe to receive.
2. How many sessions will I need before I see a difference?
Some people may start to see and feel a difference within 1-2 sessions. The number of sessions will depend on the severity, depth and length of the scar, as well as your general constitution. Generally for scars less than 6 months old, 2-4 sessions are recommended. For scars 1 year or older, 6-8 sessions are recommended.
3. Is Dolphinstim safe?
Yes, the Dolphinstim is a DC microcurrent machine with less than 1mA of current, far lower than a TENS unit. This type of microcurrent is safe for most people, but there are some conditions that are contraindicated. See the Cautions below for more information.
4. Can Dolphinstim help with internal scar tissue?
Yes, microcurrent can be used for internal scars causing adhesions, stuck fascia or other issues.
